One video on TikTok, Reels and Shorts, without a watermark

Save a TikTok to post it on Instagram and it brings TikTok's logo and your username with it, and Instagram shows watermarked reels to fewer people. The fix is simple: post your original file everywhere, not a copy saved from another app.

  • Instagram shows watermarked reels less
  • Post the original file
  • Vertical 9:16, MP4
  • One upload, every platform

In short

  • Don't save a finished post from one app to upload it to another: TikTok puts its logo and your username on saved videos, and every download loses quality.
  • Instagram says it makes watermarked reels less visible and is less likely to recommend content with noticeable watermarks.
  • Export the finished video once from your editing app, without the editor's own logo or end screen, as a vertical 9:16 MP4, and upload that file to every platform.
  • To do it in one go, upload the file once to Superbridger: it goes to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn and X as it is, with nothing added.

Why does a watermark matter?

Instagram shows watermarked reels to fewer people, and viewers can see the video came from somewhere else.

Instagram's explanation of how its ranking works says it makes certain reels less visible, "such as low-resolution or watermarked reels", and that it's testing a notification that tells creators when a watermark is limiting a reel's reach. Its tips for creators say it's less likely to recommend content with noticeable watermarks. Instagram Ranking Explained · Tips for improving your reach.

A download is also a copy of a copy: the platform compressed it once when you posted it, and it's compressed again when you upload it somewhere else. The original from your editor is sharper.

How do you get a clean file?

Export the finished video from your editing app, not from a social app, and keep that file.

  1. Edit the video in your editing app: cuts, captions, text and any music you have the rights to use everywhere.
  2. Before you export, check that the app doesn't add its own logo or an end screen. Meta's Edits app says it exports "with no added watermarks" (Meta); other editors have a setting for it.
  3. Export it vertical, 9:16 (1080 × 1920), as an MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio. That works on TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
  4. Keep that file: it's the one you upload everywhere.

Sounds from TikTok's or Instagram's music library, stickers and effects only exist inside those apps. They aren't watermarks, but no other platform gets them: add them in each app, or put your own music in the video before you export.

How do you post it to each platform by hand?

Upload the same file in each app, from your phone's gallery or your computer.

  • TikTok: tap +, choose Upload and pick the file.
  • Instagram: tap +, choose Reel and pick the file.
  • YouTube: tap +, choose Create a Short and pick the file from your gallery; on a computer, upload it in YouTube Studio. A vertical video of up to 3 minutes becomes a Short.

Three apps, three captions, three times waiting for the upload. That's what the next section saves.

How do you post it everywhere at once?

Upload the file once to Superbridger: it goes to every platform you pick as it is, with nothing added.

  1. Start the free trial and connect TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and any other accounts with each platform's own login.
  2. Add your video and write the caption once; change it per platform only where it's worth it, such as a title for YouTube.
  3. Pick the accounts and publish, or schedule it. TikTok gets it as a draft in the TikTok app's inbox, where you post it; Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and X publish it at the time you picked.

Superbridger sends the file you uploaded to every platform as it is: it adds no logo and doesn't re-encode it. Each platform then compresses it the way it does with any upload. Before anything goes out, the video is checked against each platform's rules, so a file that won't fit is caught first. It doesn't copy posts from one platform to another: your own video goes out once, everywhere.

Which format works on all three?

A vertical 9:16 MP4 of up to 3 minutes works as a TikTok, a Reel and a Short.

TikTokA TikTok postUp to 10 minutes; over 3 only for accounts TikTok allows
InstagramA Reel3 seconds to 15 minutes

Questions about watermarks

How do I post a TikTok to Instagram without the watermark?

Upload your original video file to Instagram, not the copy saved from TikTok. A video saved from TikTok carries TikTok's logo and your username, and Instagram shows watermarked reels to fewer people.

Does Instagram limit reels with a TikTok watermark?

Yes. Instagram says it makes watermarked reels less visible and is less likely to recommend content with noticeable watermarks.

Can I post the same video on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube?

Yes, it's your own video. What Instagram says it shows less is watermarked and low-resolution reels and reposts of reels already on Instagram, so upload a clean, sharp file to each.

Does Superbridger add a watermark?

No. Superbridger sends the file you uploaded to each platform as it is: it adds nothing and doesn't re-encode it.

Should I remove the watermark from a downloaded TikTok?

Use your original export instead. Removing a moving watermark means cropping, blurring or re-encoding the video, which costs quality.
