The 90-day social media plan in short

A 90-day social media plan is 13 weeks of posting at a pace you can keep, with one small focus each week, so that posting becomes a habit and your own numbers show what works.

  • Keep a floor of at least one post a week, whatever happens. Skipped weeks cost more than a slower pace.
  • Make one vertical video and post it everywhere: Reels, Shorts, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and X, each with its own words.
  • Batch the work: ideas, one filming session, the words and a 15-minute plan. About 90 minutes a week once it's a routine.
  • Three phases: Foundation (weeks 1–4), Rhythm (weeks 5–8) and Growth (weeks 9–13), with a review every four weeks.
  • After 90 days you have a habit, a library of 30 to 60 videos live on every platform, and numbers that show what your audience responds to.
In Buffer's study of more than 100,000 accounts over 26 weeks, people who posted in 20 or more weeks got about 450% more engagement per post than people who posted in 4 or fewer.

Before you start

Most brands don't fail on social media because their videos are bad. They fail because they stop. There's a burst of posts in a motivated week, then a month of nothing, then another burst. The audience never gets used to seeing them, the platforms never get enough to work with, and sooner or later the person doing the posting decides it "doesn't work".

This book is about doing the opposite: keeping one pace for 13 weeks, on every platform at once. It's written for people who run a business or a channel and do their own social media, usually squeezed in around everything else. If you run social media for clients, chapter 10 is written for you.

What you'll have after 90 days

Followers, probably. But the bigger win is harder to see from the outside. Somewhere in these 13 weeks, posting stops being a project you have to psych yourself up for and becomes part of your week, as ordinary as sending invoices. Without really noticing, you'll build a library of thirty to sixty short videos, each one live on every platform you use: more than most small brands publish in a year. And you'll have your own numbers, telling you which topics, formats and openings work for your audience, so you can stop following advice written for someone else's.

How the book works

Chapters 1 to 8 explain the method: why consistency matters, how to choose a pace, how to make one video work everywhere, and how to keep going when it gets hard. Chapter 9 is the plan itself: 13 weeks, one page each, with a short checklist. Read the first eight chapters once, then live in chapter 9.

Every chapter ends with a box like this one:

The one rule

Never let a week go by without a post.

Your pace can be once a week or every day. Some weeks you'll do more, some less. But the week with nothing in it is the one that costs you, and it's the one this whole book is built to prevent. Chapter 1 shows why.

What you need

Less than you'd think. Whatever you already make content with will do, whether that's a phone that films in decent light, a design or animation app, or both. Beyond that, you need about 90 minutes a week, in one or two blocks, and accounts on the platforms you want to grow on: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X or whichever you prefer. You don't need them all. The worksheets work on paper or in a notes app, so bring a pen if you like paper.

Chapter 1: Why consistency beats going viral

Everyone has seen a small account blow up overnight. It happens, and it makes a great story. It's also the wrong thing to plan around, because you can't schedule luck. What you can schedule is showing up, and the data says showing up is what pays.

What the data shows

A study published in January 2025 followed more than 100,000 people posting to social media over six months. It didn't count how many posts each person made. It counted something simpler: in how many of those 26 weeks did they post at least once?

Look at what was being counted. The people at the top weren't the ones who posted the most; they were the ones who rarely skipped a week. Posting once a week, every week, puts you in the top group. Posting twenty times in one week and then disappearing doesn't.

“A small business that sells special cars online posts five story videos a week, and hasn't had an off week since it started. The difference isn't willpower. They turned every step into a system.”

What's inside

Ten chapters, then 13 weeks

Chapters 1 to 8 are the method: read them once, in about an hour. Chapter 9 is the plan itself, one page a week. Chapter 10 is for running it for clients.

  1. Chapter 1

    Why consistency beats going viral

What the data says about posting every week, why bursts followed by silence don't work, and what the data doesn't say.

  2. Chapter 2

    Decide what you're building

What social media should do for you, who it's for, and three content pillars. With a one-page brand worksheet.

  3. Chapter 3

Pick a pace you can keep

A floor and a target, how much time you really have, rest days, and growing the pace slowly.

  4. Chapter 4

    Make once, publish everywhere

Film for every platform at once, give each its own words, and the cross-posting checklist.

  5. Chapter 5

    The weekly 90-minute routine

Four blocks: an idea bank, one filming session, the words while they're fresh, and the week planned in fifteen minutes.

  6. Chapter 6

    What to post

Twelve formats that work for small brands, the first two seconds, and thirty prompts for your idea bank.

  7. Chapter 7

    Read the numbers without obsessing

Ten minutes a week, the top three once a month, and which numbers to mostly ignore.

  8. Chapter 8

    When it gets hard

A missed week, a drop in views, no ideas, no energy, and when it doesn't seem to be working.

  9. Chapter 9

    The 90-day plan

Thirteen weeks in three phases, one page each: a focus, a short checklist and one thing to try.

  10. Chapter 10

Plus five appendices: platform limits, caption templates, the content calendar, the day-90 review and the tool at a glance.

The plan

The 90-day social media plan, week by week

FAQ

Questions about the plan and the book

What is a 90-day social media plan?

Thirteen weeks of posting at a pace you can keep, with one focus a week: set up and find a routine (weeks 1–4), make it easier with a series and better words (weeks 5–8), then do more of what works and plan the next 90 days (weeks 9–13).

How often should I post on social media?

Pick two numbers: a floor of one post a week that you keep whatever happens, and a target you can still manage in your worst week. Three to five videos a week suits Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube Shorts at the same time, as long as each video goes to all of them.

Can I post the same video on every platform?

Yes. Upload the original file rather than a download from another app, and give each platform its own words: a searchable title for YouTube, a short hook for TikTok and Instagram, more context for LinkedIn.

How long does it take before posting consistently pays off?

Give it at least the full 13 weeks before you judge it. In Buffer's study of more than 100,000 accounts, engagement per post kept rising for about 21 weeks of steady posting before it levelled off.

Is the book really free?

Yes. It comes with every Superbridger account, the free trial included. Sign up, and it's waiting in your account.

Do I need Superbridger to use it?

No. The method works with any tool, or with none. Each chapter ends with a short box on doing that step in Superbridger, which takes the repetitive parts off your hands.

What format is it?

A PDF of 64 pages, in a small book size that reads well on a phone, with worksheets you can print.

How much time does the plan take?

About 90 minutes a week once it's a routine: one session to film, the words straight afterwards, fifteen minutes to plan the week and ten to look at the numbers.

Is there a Dutch version?

Not yet: the book is in English.
